Encaustics, Paintings & Other Musings

Encaustics are lovely because I like the smell of bee's wax. To make an an encaustic painting you use resin, beeswax and pigment and heat. To make an encaustic monotype or print, you use an encaustic stick that has those three components mixed together and melt them on a heated surface before applying the paper and pulling the print. Sometimes I simply work on canvas and acrylic paints. Once in awhile I make things out of plastic and other found objects.
